How to reach Kraków by plane?

  • Balice-Kraków International Airport is very close and well connected to the city centre by public transportation (train/bus services) and by taxis. For details, please visit the website: www.krakowairport.pl


  • Pyrzowice-Katowice International Airport is located about 100 km away from Kraków. A number of low-cost airlines fly to this airport. A bus connection to Kraków takes about 1h30min. For details please see: www.katowice-airport.com


  • Okecie International Airport (Warsaw) - for details, please visit the website: www.lotnisko-chopina.pl. InterCity train connection from Warsaw Central Station (Warszawa Centralna) to Krakow Main Station (Kraków Główny) takes about 2h45min. For details see: www.pkp.pl


We advise you to take direct flights to Kraków, possible from many European airports like Munich, Frankfurt, Prague, Vienna, Brussels, Helsinki, Athens and others.

 

How to get to your hotel after arriving to Kraków?

  • Take a taxi from the airport to your hotel (about 50 PLN to the city centre, please confirm the price with the driver before the trip!).

  • Take a train from the airport (the train stop is located 200 m from the T1 international terminal) to the "Kraków Główny" railway station - travel time approx. 16 min. Then take a taxi or use public transport, bus or tram.

  • Take bus 208 or 292 or 902 (night bus) to the city centre. Then continue with another bus, tram, or taxi.


If you come to Kraków by train, you should disembark the train at the "Kraków Główny" railway station located in the city centre, then continue with tram, bus, or taxi to your hotel.

For those arriving to Kraków by car please bear in mind that the city centre is a restricted car parking zone. Please consult the car parking options with your hotel.

 

How to get to Olimp Hostel/Conference building after arriving to Kraków?

  • Bus 208 stops near Olimp Hostel - disembark at Miasteczko Studenckie AGH bus stop, and close to Conference building - Kawiory bus stop. Alternatively take bus 292 and at bus stop Cracovia change to bus 173, then disembark at Miasteczko Studenckie AGH. Route with timetable can be found here

  • To reach Olimp Hostel from a "Kraków Główny" railway station you can use tram 4, 14, 20, 24 or bus 179 then disembark at Plac Inwalidów where you change to bus 139 or 159 which will take you to Miasteczko Studenckie AGH. Route with timetable can be found here

  • Bus 139 and 159 stops near Conference building - Kawiory bus stop.

Do you need visa to enter Poland?

 

Please check, if you need visa. If so, please visit appropriate for your country Polish Consulate website for details www.msz.gov.pl Some participants may need the official invitation for the Conference, to visa application. We kindly inform you that, according to our regulations, such a letter may only be sent to the participant upon her/his request after the registration fee has been paid.

 

 

Currency exchange

 

The currency in Poland is Polish Zloty (PLN). The rates PLN/EURO and PLN/USD are approximately 4.2 and 3.2. On the map you can find the localization of Currency Exchange points in the center of Krakow. Polish name for Exchange is Kantor. The one closest from the conference building is this. You can always check the current rate on that webpage.

Please, be aware of less favorable rate at the Krakow airport.
